FOUNDER OF ALMERIA LINE DANCERS BASED IN SPAIN

My Line Dance Club was originally founded in Spain in 2009, although the name of the club Almeria Line Dancers with Julie evolved over the next couple of years
I originally trained and qualified as a teacher in Exercise to Music/Aerobics in the 1990s and throughout the years have continued to explore and train in many different forms of dance.
From the moment I discovered Line Dancing I knew it would become a life long passion, I went along with a neighbour to a beginner class here in Spain and loved it from day one. Within a couple of weeks I was ready to progress my line dance abilities and skills and attended intermediate classes with various instructors within the line dance community with whom I learned to Line Dance.
In 2012 I was asked by several dancers if I would teach a higher level class as there were no longer any classes for the Intermediate Dancer in the area we live. I had already by this time been teaching a beginner/improver class for approximately three years always focusing on technique, style and musicality.
In March 2015 I choreographed my first beginner line dance and received some encouraging comments from all around the world about this dance – Easy Livin’. I have continued with the choreography bug creating all levels of line dances with various degrees of success.
Two of my hit dances are I Believe co-choreographed with Caroline Cooper (July 2018) and Graffiti Baby (December 2018).
I currently run two classes a week instructing AB to Advanced levels, as well as socials and events. New and old dances are taught in a modern and contemporary way to a wide variety of music to suit all tastes. Anyone attending any of my classes as well as learning to dance is assured of a warm welcome and a great time.
For the future I would like to continue to work in line dance instruction and choreography. Always welcoming the opportunity to travel and meet dancers from around the world.
