About Becca Salamone of Becca's Barn Dance:
It all started in the halls of her family's horse barn way back in the 1970s where Becca Salamone learned to dance The Hustle and The Bus Stop with her horse show friends. When she was 15 years old, she took ballet, tap, and jazz at Jackie O'Neal School of Dance in Birmingham, AL, until graduating high school. During college in Mobile, Alabama, she continued her pursuit of dance, studying modern dance and belly dancing. All this time, from the age of 16 up until the present, Becca has line and couples danced at various bars and event venues around the country. In 2009, she competed in Two Step with her partner Alan Tidwell placing 4th in a UCWDC-sanctioned dance competition held in Nashville, TN. From 2009 to 2019, she taught line dancing at various community venues and opened her business called Becca's Barn Dance which focuses on teaching both public and private line dance lessons for special occasions and celebrations. Since 2019, she has been teaching line dance lessons on Tuesday nights at Van's Bar in Leeds, Alabama. Becca has recently choreographed line dances for the bands Sweet Tea Trio, Who Shot Lizzy?, and Nitty Gritty GR. The line dance to Who Shot Lizzy?'s song Wastin' Whiskey was featured in the band's music video filmed at Van's. As well, the line dance to Rackin Horse, a song by Nitty Gritty GR, was featured in the music video filmed at Van's, along with the dance stylings of the J Creek Cloggers (featuring viral sensation, "blue shirt guy" Zeb Ross). Becca is known for making her line dance lessons fun and accommodating for her students of all skill levels. Becca is an NTA-certified and accredited line dance instructor and the Alabama State Director for NTA.
