I first started Line Dancing in Sept 1996 and ended up teaching in December 1996 when our then instructor-Joy Cotton- went back to the States for 6 weeks, and didn't want to carry on when she returned so I officially became The Jolly Stompers January 1997. The original 6 dancers have grown over the last 27 years to l3 classes, though I've had to cut down due to ill health and now only teach 6 classes!
I've also taught 15 weekends for Yesterday Once More at Pontins, Brean Sands and then Stagecoach Promotions at many of their Beginner / Improver Weekends. I have also taught for Warners at their Westerm Motorhome Weekend in Malvern for the last 9 years but have now 'retired' so I can just enjoy the bands.
I now run my own weekends in September in Torquay and work closely with Val Myers running the Tradline weekend in Street, Somerset where a group of fellow country music loving instructors get together, with some of their club members, and share our love of line dancing-see Tradline.org. for information.
I run monthly beginner socials with run throughs of the dances, and monthly split floor socials so all levels can dance to great music.
Welcome to the Jolly Stompers in Stroud, Gloucestershire, I still love line dancing as much today as I did then and I hope you will share my love of line dancing. It's all about having fun, which is what the Jolly Stompers aim to do.
