We have two classes each week which are both furious and fun !!! Elsa puts the music on and Therese does the instruction.
We aim to teach a mix of dances both Country and Pop, Modern and Old, so that our dancers are well equipped to go to live bands, holiday venues
or just dance ,dance, dance !!!
We also do fundraisers and demonstrations at local venues - in fact we are game for most things line.
Our classes range from Absolute beginner to Intermediate - 9 -90 years old -and we even have a coffee break at half time - thank-you Elsa !!!!!!
Sessions are as follows - stay as long as you like !!!
Wednesdays : 1:00pm -3:00pm Memorial Hall St. Columb Minor
Thursdays: 1:00pm -5:00pm Quintrell Downs Village Hall.
Our Club name has a very special history - it sums us all up I suppose. When Elsa and I started line dancing we attended several different classes around the county desperate to learn. We were so hopeless we were put in a remedial group with a girl called 'Vanessa'. Vanessa was so patient with us and gave us extra tuition to boot !!!
Sadly Vanessa died at a very young age, nine months after we had met her . We decided to carry on dancing and take on Vanessa's class. We got trained and qualified and here we are today. Vanessa means 'Butterfly' and as you probably know 'Papillon' is French for Butterfly. Hence our club name to remember a dear soul who accessed the fun world of line dancing for us !!!!
We welcome locals/ holiday makers/ casuals and uncle Tom Cobbley and all !!
